Dear Parents
As you know, our school systematically supports families who have more or less temporary difficulties paying the full tuition. Unfortunately, since last year, scholarship needs have increased significantly, and the savings related to the closure of the school’s on-site operations (swimming pool, operating costs) have been absorbed by scholarship assistance. Many families have found themselves in financial difficulty due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of them have faced the decision of whether to withdraw their own child from school. Some children have left our school.
Data on scholarship expenditures in successive school years are as follows:
in the 2018/19 school year: 24,960 PLN was spent on scholarships for 33 students (18 families)
in the 2019/20 school year – 1st semester: 23,460 PLN for 34 students (19 families), 2nd semester: 40,407 PLN for 51 students (28 families)
in the 2020/21 school year – 1st semester: 36,215 PLN for 48 students (26 families), 2nd semester: 43,972 PLN for 54 students (31 families)
in the 2021/22 school year – 1st semester: 21 families submitted applications for 38 students for a total amount of 30,584 PLN, but due to a limited budget, scholarships were granted to 34 students in the amount of 23,830 PLN
Number of students who left the school in 2020: 15, this year: 10.
To meet the needs of our school, the Parents’ Council together with the Family Covenant Association has decided to establish the St. John Paul II Social Assistance Fund. The Fund will distribute scholarships according to the exact regulations that have been in place for years and have been proven in our school. This will allow Parents who can and want to help to make voluntary contributions to a fund sub-account managed by the school administration. And it will enable children to continue their education in a friendly and familiar environment. Donations can be regular or one-time: in any amount you can afford. We want, in accordance with the principles of Christian assistance to those in need, to help Children and Their Families survive this difficult time and thereby care for the school community and its integrity. We appeal for any material assistance you can provide: together we can truly make a difference!
